Still bitter over that one ngl #oregon #oregontrail #familylegacy ALSO - I have a ton of respect for the indigenous people of this area and I like to think my family didn’t get into it with them because they also had respect for them, but who knows. The 1864 Homestead Act resulted in so many indigenous tribes being displaced and extinguished. It’s really awful and I wonder sometimes if my family was cursed somehow because the land wasn’t ever theirs to begin with and what happened to those there before. I wish I could say it’s in better hands now but I truly feel it went into the hands of pure evil and I mourn that to this day. If I ever am rich and am able to buy the property back somehow, I will go to the Umpqua tribe and see what is best to do 💕 and we’ll hopefully all have a big ass party and YOU’RE INVITED!!!
